Fans of the CW hit 61st Street show are eagerly speculating about the future of the show. With its captivating storylines and a diverse cast of beloved characters, the drama has certainly made an impact. The narrative follows Moses Johnson. A talented high school athlete who finds himself entangled in the deeply flawed Chicago criminal justice system. The series has garnered a dedicated following, yet its future remains uncertain. As everyone waits for news on new episodes. The big question on viewers’ minds is whether we’ll see 61st Street Season 3, renewed, or canceled, or if the show is headed for more seasons.

Here’s everything you need to know about 61st Street’s future episodes.

Is 61st Street canceled or renewed for season 3?

As of now, no updates on 61st Street Season 3. The CW has not announced whether it will produce or air a third season.

Season 2 of the hit AMC series aired on July 22, 2024. The final episode, titled “Judgement Day,” which came out today, follows how Franklin wraps up his thoughts, and Officer Logan receives an unexpected proposal. The entire series came to an end, giving viewers the last visual rights to explore inside the series. But many fans are disheartened to hear that The CW has not yet decided on 61st Street Season 3 and will cancel it for now. As of now, there is no confirmation that The CW will air a third season of 61st Street.

Earlier AMC decided to cancel 61st Street after they had already filmed the second season. But in 2023, The CW swooped in and grabbed the rights to both seasons, breathing new life into the show. The first season premiered on The CW in late 2023, while fans can look forward to the second season which aired in 2024. (via ComicBook)

Even though the second season is all wrapped up, AMC has decided not to show the episodes due to some cost-cutting moves they announced last month. They mentioned they might take write-downs of up to $475 million. The team behind the show is now on the hunt for a new platform to air the second season. Creator Peter Moffat, along with EPs David Shanks and Alana Mayo, shared their thoughts on the canceled series in a statement to Deadline, stating

“Working on 61st Street was a labor of love for everyone who had the honor of being a part of telling this extraordinary story. We are grateful that viewers were drawn to the characters and their respective journeys. And expressed how much they were looking forward to seeing the story unfold in Season 2. The great thing about telling meaningful and empowering stories is that there are no limitations. We as a team will work hard to find 61st Street a home that it deserves.”
