A Max release date has been set for Salem’s Lot.

Salem’s Lot is a new adaptation of the classic 1975 horror novel written by author Stephen King. The film is directed by Gary Dauberman and stars Lewis Pullman, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, and more.

When is the Salem’s Lot Max release date?

Per Fangoria, Salem’s Lot will premiere on Max on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

“Author Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire,” the synopsis for the movie reads.

Pullman plays Ben Mears in the movie, while Woodard plays Dr. Cody and Camp stars as Matthew Burke. The cast also includes Makenzie Leigh, William Sadler, Pilou Asbæk, John Benjamin Hickey, among others.

“Salem’s Lot is such a special book because there are a lot of macro sociopolitical themes in there. It’s not just a horror book,” Pullman recently told Entertainment Weekly about the film. “How Gary approached it was almost like, this is not a horror movie. This is a movie about a small town in America where something horrific happens. He was trying to also rekindle the fire of mystique about vampires. They’ve shifted in many different ways over the last couple of decades in terms of pop culture. I think Gary really wanted to return back to this very mysterious, almost mythological lens on them.”

Dauberman is known for directing 2019’s Annabelle Comes Home. He also worked on the scripts for movies such as 2017’s Annabelle: Creation, 2017’s It, 2018’s The Nun, 2019’s It Chapter Two, and more.

James Wan produces the movie alongside Michael Clear, Roy Lee, and Mark Wolper, while Dauberman, Michael Bederman, Judson Scott, and Andrew Childs serve as executive producers.
