Following John Wick Chapter 4 and The Continental prequel series, all eyes have been set on the John Wick spin-off Ana de ArmasBallerina. It not only introduces a new character but is also confirmed to have a John Wick cameo. Fortunately for fans, Ana de Armas has chimed in with new information about Ballerina and its trailer release date.

Ana de Armas provides much awaited Ballerina movie update

While promoting her upcoming historical drama, Eden, Ana de Armas addressed the John Wick spin-off’s reshoots at the Toronto International Film Festival. She also talked about Ballerina’s hotly-anticipated trailer and teased its potential release date.

In her interview with Collider‘s Perri Nemiroff, Ana de Armas revealed why Ballerina’s reshoots were necessary. She said:

“All we did in those reshoots had to be there. We got amazing footage. It’s really spectacular. A trailer is coming out soon, I’ve been told. I saw it, and it’s beautiful. I’m very proud of it.”

She continued to praise the film with excitement, saying:

“It’s really exciting. It’s dangerous, it’s sexy, it’s very John Wick. I think people are going to be surprised. I’m biased. Of course, I like the movie, but I think it’s really cool. It’s going to be amazing.”

The actress also explained how the reshoots took place just two weeks after she shot Eden, and she had to make “a big switch mentally and physically to get back to that.”

Ballerina is set between the third and fourth John Wick chapters. In it, Ana de Armas plays the ballerina/assassin Rooney, who will go after her family’s killers in a quest for vengeance.

As mentioned above, Keanu Reeves is expected to return as the Baba Yaga. Meanwhile, other familiar characters will also be seen, including the late Lance Reddick’s Charon, Anjelica Huston’s The Director, and Ian McShane’s Winston Scott.

Among Ballerina’s new cast members are David Castañeda, Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and Catalina Sandino Moreno. Directed by Len Wiseman, Ballerina will hit theaters on June 6, 2025.
