Netflix has unveiled the teaser trailer for Wolf King, an upcoming animated adaptation of the Wereworld book series by Curtis Jobling.

The newly released teaser trailer is part of the streamer’s Geeked Week 2024, which earlier also revealed the release date window for Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2.

What is in the Wolf King teaser trailer?

The teaser trailer introduces audiences to Drew, a young man who is revealed to be a wolf, making him “a monster in the eyes of many.” Set to be a faithful adaptation of Jobling’s Wereworld books, the teaser trailer also highlighted how Drew tries to control his true self, as “he is not the monster people think [he is].”

“Set in a world where mortal man is ruled over by the Werelords, we will meet a 16-year-old shepherd boy Drew Ferran, a teen whose life is changed forever when he discovers he’s the last surviving Wolf King,” the official logline reads.

The upcoming small-screen animated adaptation is directed by Tom Brass for Jellyfish Pictures. It is produced by Angelo Abela, Tim Compton, Curtis Jobling, and Barry Quinn. The voice cast behind the series has yet to be unveiled.

Wolf King is the latest animated feature from Jellyfish Pictures following DreamWorks Animation’s Spirit: Untamed and the animated short film How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming.

It is also Netflix’s latest addition to its growing animated library, including Bojack Horseman, Arcane, Castlevania, Disenchantment, Carmen Sandiego, Blood of Zeus, Inside Job, Gnome Alone, Troll Hunters: Tales of Arcadia, Duck Duck Goose, Hilda, The Loud House Movie, Fearless, Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp, and Love, Death & Robots, among others.

No exact release date has been set yet for Wolf King, but the streamer confirmed that it is set to arrive next year.
