What else do we know about Ryan Coogler’s Sinners movie?

Along with Jordan and Lindo, the cast of Sinners includes Jack O’Connell, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Benson Miller, Hailee Steinfeld, Li Jun Li, Lola Kirke, and more.

“Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back,” the synopsis for the movie reads.

Following a number of short films, Coogler made his feature film debut as a director in 2013. The biographical drama movie starred Jordan as Oscar Grant III, who was tragically killed by a Bay Area Rapid Transit police officer in 2009.

After Fruitvale Station, Coogler continued to work with Jordan on a number of projects. Coogler’s next movie was 2015’s Creed, which saw Jordan play Adonis ‘Donnie’ Creed, who is the son of Carl Weathers’ Apollo Creed.

Jordan then played Erik Killmonger in Coogler’s Black Panther MCU movie, which was released in 2018. Coogler also directed the 2022 sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which saw Jordan return in a cameo role as Killmonger. He’s involved in the upcoming Eyes of Wakanda Marvel Studios animated series.

Coogler additionally executive produced the sequel to Creed, 2018’s Creed II. He was a producer and has a story credit on the third film in the franchise, Creed III, which was directed by Jordan.

Along with writing and directing the film, Coogler is also producing via Proximity Media with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson will executive produce with Rebecca Cho and Will Greenfield.

Sinners will be released in United States theaters on March 7, 2025, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
