Paramount Pictures has released the Better Man teaser trailer and featurette for the upcoming biographical musical drama based on the life of pop music icon Robbie Williams. The film is scheduled to arrive in select theaters on December 25, followed by a wide release on January 17, 2025.

    ):

What happens in the Better Man teaser trailer?

The teaser trailer introduces Williams as a monkey man, which, according to director Michael Gracey, is how the music star perceived himself. The video also highlights the rise of Williams and the challenges he faces while dealing with fame and success. As for the featurette, it shows Williams and Gracey explaining the story behind their decision to portray Williams as a monkey.

Better Man is directed by The Greatest Showman filmmaker Michael Gracey, who co-wrote the screenplay with Simon Gleeson and Oliver Cole. The film also stars Jonno Davies, Steve Pemberton, Damon Herriman, Raechelle Banno, Alison Steadman, Kate Mulvaney, Frazer Hadfield, Tom Budge, and Anthony Hayes. It is produced by Paul Currie, Michael Gracey, Coco Xiaolu Ma, Jules Daly, and Craig McMahon.

“The film is based on the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall, and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Robbie Williams, one of the greatest entertainers of all time,” reads the synopsis. “It is uniquely told from Robbie’s perspective, capturing his signature wit and indomitable spirit. It follows Robbie’s journey from childhood, to being the youngest member of chart-topping boyband Take That, through to his unparalleled achievements as a record-breaking solo artist – all the while confronting the challenges that stratospheric fame and success can bring.”
