Demi Moore, Keke Palmer, and more have been cast in Boots Riley’s new movie, I Love Boosters.

I Love Boosters is a new film from Riley, who made his feature film directorial debut in 2018 with Sorry to Bother You. He also created the miniseries I’m a Virgo, which starred Jharrel Jerome.

Announced in a press release from NEON, I Love Boosters will star Palmer, Moore, Naomi Ackie, and LaKeith Stanfield. Additional casting is currently underway and the movie is expected to begin filming this fall.

What else do we know about I Love Boosters?

“I Love Boosters is about a ring of enterprising boosters (aka shoplifters, equal opportunists), who take aim at a cutthroat fashion maven,” the plot description reads. Additional details are being kept under wraps at this time.

Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett are producing the film for Ryder Picture Company alongside Savage Rose Films’ Allison Rose Carter and Jon Read. Mike Jackman and Gus Deardoff serve as executive producers.

Palmer is known for starring in movies such as 2019’s Hustlers and 2022’s Nope, while she also voiced Izzy Hawthorne in 2022’s Lightyear. Moore, meanwhile, recently starred alongside Margaret Qualley in The Substance, which is currently playing in United States theaters.

Ackie was recently seen playing Frida in 2024’s Blink Twice. She was also in 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and portrayed Whitney Houston in 2022’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody. She’ll soon be seen in Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17, which releases next January.

Stanfield played the lead character, Cassius “Cash” Green, in Sorry to Both You. His filmography also includes 2013’s Short Term 12, 2015’s Straight Outta Compton, 2019’s Uncut Gems, 2021’s Judas and the Black Messiah, 2021’s The Harder They Fall, 2023’s Haunted Mansion, and more.

A release date for I Love Boosters has not yet been announced by NEON.
