A Terrifier video game is officially in the works, and is turning the iconic horror franchise into a 2D, side-scrolling beat ’em up game called Terrifier: The ARTcade Game.

What do we know about the Terrifier video game?

Terrifier: The ARTcade Game is developed by Relevo and will be published by Selecta Play, and will turn Art the Clown into the pixelated main character of his own adventure. In the game, players will travel across various stages designed as movie sets, with Art disrupting things in ways only he knows how.

Check out a brief trailer for Terrifier: The ARTcade Game below:

Terrifier: The ARTcade Game will release sometime in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Alongside the brief trailer, developer Relevo has detailed a bit of what to expect from the game, including the ability to use a variety of weapons, teaming up with four players in local co-op mode, and using things like “over-the-top,” gory finishing moves.

Some other key features for the game include:

    • Gorgeous Pixel Art and Animation – The game captures the essence of the Terrifier films with bright, cartoonish pixel art and fluid animations that vividly depict the gruesome action.
    • Bloody Arsenal of Weapons – From chainsaws to cleavers, pick up a variety of weapons to turn your enemies into bloody pulp.
    • Diverse Stages and Boss Battles – Travel through multiple stages, each with different paths to explore and enemies to defeat. Prepare yourself for intense boss battles that will test your skills.
    • Chiptune Soundtrack – Relive the golden age of gaming with a glorious chiptune soundtrack that perfectly complements the retro aesthetic.
    • Multiple Game Modes – With six different game modes, whether you’re looking for a quick beat ’em up session or an extended challenge, there’s a mode that fits your style.
