ComingSoon is excited to debut a gorgeously illustrated Bookworm poster by artist Brianna Ashby, who is the art director of the digital film magazine Bright Wall/Dark Room. Starring The Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood and Nell Fisher (Evil Dead Rise), the family adventure movie is directed by Ant Timpson. Distributed by Vertical, the film is now available in select theaters and on demand.

    What is Bookworm about?

“Bookworm follows 11-year-old Mildred (Nell Fisher), whose life takes a wild turn when her estranged father, Strawn Wise (Elijah Wood), a washed-up Las Vegas illusionist, suddenly reappears. Years ago, after a magical encounter with the once-charming Strawn, Mildred’s mom moved back to New Zealand. Now, a comical mishap leaves Strawn caring for Mildred while her mom is hospitalized. Their first adventure? Camping to hunt for the mythological Canterbury Panther. As this mismatched duo navigates the wilderness, magic tricks, and an extraordinary quest, hilarity ensues, and they might just find a way to piece their family back together,” says the synopsis for the film.

Bookworm is directed by Ant Timpson from a script by Toby Howard from a story that Timpson and Howard came up with. Wood and FIsher are joined by Michael Smiley in the cast. It is produced by Emma Slade, Roxi Bull, Victoria Dabbs, Mette-Marie Kongsved, and Laura Tunstall.

Bookworm has a runtime of 103 minutes.
