Lions reveal conference schedule for 2024

COMMERCE — The Texas A&M University- Commerce volleyball team has published the Southland Conference schedule for the 2024 season.

With the addition of the University of Texas of the Rio Grande Valley and Stephen F. Austin to the Southland this fall, the Lions are slated to play 16 conference matches, including eight on the Hunt Regional Healthcare Court inside the Field House.

The conference portion of the schedule begins with a trip to Northwestern State on Sept. 24. The Lady Demons and the Lions are travel partners this season and played in the first round of the SLC Tournament a year ago.

Then, A&M-Commerce welcomes the University of the Incarnate and McNeese to Commerce on Sept. 26 and Sept. 28, respectively, before heading back on the road for four straight.

The road swing begins at Lamar on October 3, at Stephen F. Austin on Oct. 5, at A&M-Corpus Christi on Oct. 10, and at UTRGV on Oct. 12.

The Lions have four straight matches against the Islanders and the Vaqueros, as A&M-Corpus Christi makes the return trip to Commerce on Oct. 17 and UTRGV is in town on Oct. 19, which is also Homecoming weekend. The home stand concludes on Oct. 26 against Houston Christian.

The lone road match in southern Louisiana comes on Nov. 2 as they play at Nicholls, before returning home to host Northwestern State. The final road trip of the regular season is to Houston Christian on Nov. 7 and UIW on Nov. 9.

The Lions close out the regular season at home against defending SLC champion Southeastern on Nov. 14 and New Orleans for Senior Day on Nov. 16.

This season, the Lions look to advance to the postseason for the 13th consecutive year, which is the longest active streak for any sport at A&M-Commerce. The Southland Conference Tournament is hosted by Southeastern on Nov. 2124.

The non-conference portion of the schedule, season ticket information, and match times will be released at a later date.
