CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Four Texas A&M University- Commerce golfers earned All-America Scholar Honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
Julianna Crow, Marie Naeher, Jordan Dusckas, and Benz Far-Arun were honored by the WGCA.
This marks the third consecutive season that the Lions had four honorees on the list. It is also the second consecutive years that Dusckas and Naeher have been named on the list.
Across the country, 1,497 women's collegiate golfers from 412 programs were recognized with his prestigious honor.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must: *Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
*Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
*Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
Crow competed in 15 rounds this past season and recorded a ninth-place finish at the Southland Conference Championships, in which A&M-Commerce finished second as a team. She is a construction engineering major.
Naeher was part of the Lion lineup in 24 rounds, including being part of the five golfers that competed at the conference championships. She is a political science major with a minor in physics.
Dusckas played in 26 of the team's 29 rounds and had two top ten finishes on the season, including at the conference championships and was also named to the Academic All-Southland team. She is a sport & recreation management major and minoring in general business.
Far-Arun played in all 29 rounds for the Lions this season, which included an individual win in the fall, the only individual medal for the Lions in the Divison I era. She posted three top five performances and five top tens. Far-Arun is a psychology major with a minor in interdisciplinary studies. She was also named to the Academic All-SLC team.
