Two of Como-Pickton CISD’s administrators are in the running for state honors. Dr. Greg Bower, CPCISD superintendent, has been nominated for Texas Rural Education Association’s 2024 Superintendent of the Year honors and Kelly Baird, CP High School principal, is nominated for TREA's 2024 Principal of the Year award.

Bower was previously nominated in 2023 and in 2020 was named Texas Association of School Boards Region 8 Superintendent of the Year, beating out 46 other schools in Northeast Texas.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to have been nominated and selected as a finalist. I give all the credit to my incredible staff, students, and school board. I love them, and I am thankful that they allow me to lead their school. It truly is a blessing to be here,' said Bower.
