A Compton burger restaurant saw a spike in business after being featured in a recent Kendrick Lamar music video. Now, they’re paying tribute to the star with a mural.

In the video for Lamar’s Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” the Compton-born rapper visits Tam’s Burgers No. 21 on Rosencrans Ave. The restaurant’s manager told TMZ Hip Hop that business is up 30% to 40% since the video’s July 4 release.

Artist Michael Norris told KNX News’ Emily Valdez he was commissioned to paint a mural on the side of Tam’s honoring the hometown star. It features Lamar’s face next to the phrase “They Not Like Us.”

Norris said the mural is not just about Lamar, but also the community.

“Plus, it just means a lot of unity,” he said. “You know, the Black and brown unity right here, being this is a Latino establishment, me being a Black muralist, so it’s a collaboration of everyone.”

Lamar has been a vocal fan of Tam’s for years, shouting it out in his 2017 track “ ELEMENT. ” and telling Complex it’s better than In-N-Out.
