Korean comfort food concept Daeho Kalbijjim & Beef Soup is gearing up to debut a new outpost in the East Bay, according to a recent Instagram post.

“Daeho Concord is coming soon,” the caption states, below a photo of a building’s interior undergoing construction. An address has not been announced yet.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Daeho, the business offers a brief introduction on its website : “Our story began in 1957 when we opened a restaurant called ‘Kangnam’ in Incheon, South Korea. We immigrated to the US in 1990, with a passion for food. For 30 years, we have operated various Korean restaurants in San Francisco.”

“Though the restaurant’s menu spans Korean hot pot, bibimbap, kalbitang (beef rib soup), and more, Daeho is best known for its kalbijjim, a beef short rib stew that’s draped in cheese, which gets melted by kitchen torch at your table,” SF Eater shares.

The business presently operates two outposts in San Francisco, one in San Mateo, another in Milpitas, and one in Las Vegas — with plans to open in Seattle.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
