CONCORD, Calif. (KRON) — The Concord fireworks show paused on Thursday night after the fireworks caused a fire at a local high school baseball field, an organizer with the celebration confirmed.

Large flames could be seen coming from Mount Diablo High School’s baseball field. The flames were eventually put out, and the show resumed.

Firefighters were on standby in the area, and they were able to put out the blaze, the organizer said. No structures were involved.

Limited information about this fire is available. KRON4 has reached out to local fire departments for more.

A similar incident happened at the Concord fireworks show in 2021 when a fire broke out at the Concord Pavilion. The fireworks show was also forced to pause as crews worked to put out the blaze.
