Firefighters in Concord on Saturday battled a blaze in a building under construction, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

The multi-story building is located at 1309 Galindo St. and the fire shut down the street between Cowell Road and Laguna Street while crews were on scene. The fire was first reported at 4:11 p.m.

A spokesperson for the fire district said the blaze was contained to just one unit of the building, but there is smoke and fire damage to about 20% of the entire structure.

No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.

Another building under construction in Concord near Sunset Avenue and East Street caught fire on April 29, resulting in massive damage and requiring the response of more than 55 firefighters.
