LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A 42-year-old Concord Township woman has died, and a 65-year-old Sterling Heights man has minor injuries, after a car crash Friday afternoon.

Deputies from the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff responded at 12:23 p.m. to the two-car crash at the intersection of M-60 and Main Street in the Village of Concord.

The 65-year-old Sterling Heights man was traveling eastbound on M-60 in a semi-trailer truck and the 42-year-old Concord Township woman was traveling northbound in a Chevrolet van when they crashed at the intersection, said officials with Jackson County Office of the Sheriff.

“Evidence at the scene indicated the semi-driver attempted an evasive maneuver to avoid the crash,” they said.

The sheriff’s officials said neither alcohol nor drugs seem to have contributed to the crash. The crash is still under investigation.

You can contact Sheriff Gary Schuette at 517-768-7924 if you need further information.
