In college football, so much of a program’s success on its 12 to 15 game days hinges on what goes on the rest of the year. While the NCAA transfer portal offers programs another avenue toward roster-building and talent acquisition, traditional recruiting of high school prospects never stops, and even in the current dead period those official visits in June are becoming commitment announcements in July and August before players kick off their own senior seasons. At Tennessee, head football coach Josh Heupel and the Vols are looking to build off blue-chip-laden classes in the previous two cycles and taking aim at a potential second top-10 class in three years.
