KU football opens as a heavy favorite in Week 1 matchup with Lindenwood
The Kansas football season opener is just days away. The Jayhawks will kick off the 2024 season on Thursday night at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City as FCS program Lindenwood comes to town. The Lions recently made the jump to the Division I and FCS level. Lindenwood is coming off a 3-7 season last year. Heading into this season, the Lions were picked to finish eighth in the Preseason Big South-OVC Association Poll.

Street near KU football stadium to close for construction
As work on the KU football stadium continues, a street adjacent to the stadium will soon close to most traffic through mid-January 2025. Contractors will close Fambrough Drive, or West 11th Street, from Missouri Street to Mississippi Street beginning Monday, Aug. 26. It’s a stretch of about a quarter-mile. The closure is for work associated with the stadium project.

Vendors are in the heart of the farmers market season, and are happy to serve customers.
