Men’s Soccer Opens Their Season Strong With a 5-2 Victory over Dodge City
Chanute, KS - Neosho Men's Soccer opened their season at home with their first ranking game against Dodge City. The Panthers needing a good result to start the season strong go up 1-0 just five minutes into the game with a goal from Asaph Silveira assisted by Dylan Roberts. Just four minutes later Neosho doubled their lead with a goal from Callum Niven assisted by Captain Tom Devonport. Dodge City went on to score 2 goals through the rest of the first half and equalize with the game all square going into the second half.
Street near KU football stadium to close for construction
As work on the KU football stadium continues, a street adjacent to the stadium will soon close to most traffic through mid-January 2025. Contractors will close Fambrough Drive, or West 11th Street, from Missouri Street to Mississippi Street beginning Monday, Aug. 26. It’s a stretch of about a quarter-mile. The closure is for work associated with the stadium project.

Five years after being drafted by the Boston Red Sox, an ex-KU baseball standout has finally made his Major League Baseball debut. Former Jayhawks pitcher Ryan Zeferjahn (born in Topeka, Kansas) made his long-awaited major league appearance on Sunday. Zeferjahn originally entered professional baseball with the Red Sox organization as a third-round pick (No. 107 overall) in the 2019 MLB Draft but was traded to the Los Angeles Angels’ Triple-A affiliate the Salt Lake Bees last month.
