Dozens of invasive Japanese beetles caught in the Tri-Cities area
OLYMPIA, Wash - The Washington State Department of Agriculture is asking residents in the Tri-Cities to report Japanese beetle sightings after already catching 38 beetles this summer. That is seven times more beetles than last summer when the WSDA caught five in Pasco. They are an invasive species and pose a threat to local agricultural communities.

25 tiny homes at Seattle shelter damaged in fire
SEATTLE — Dozens of tiny homes serving as shelter in Seattle were damaged in an early morning fire on Thursday. The Seattle Fire Department posted that the fire had been extinguished just before 3 a.m., however at least 28 people have been displaced. Before they lived in the tiny home village they were experiencing homelessness.

The Husky football season begins at the end of August. Continuing our look at this year’s program, it’s time to project the week one starting offense for Washington. The offense returns zero majority starters from last year’s high-powered unit. It added several transfers at many positions, and the new staff will be running a pro-style system.
