Dozens of invasive Japanese beetles caught in the Tri-Cities area
OLYMPIA, Wash - The Washington State Department of Agriculture is asking residents in the Tri-Cities to report Japanese beetle sightings after already catching 38 beetles this summer. That is seven times more beetles than last summer when the WSDA caught five in Pasco. They are an invasive species and pose a threat to local agricultural communities.

Crabbing season returns to Whatcom County waters
BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Summer crabbing season is upon us as the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announces rules and regulations for this summer. The season officially opens on July 18 for Bellingham and the San Juan Islands, lasting through Sept. 30 and crabbing is only allowed Thursdays through Mondays. Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be closed for all recreational crabbing.
