High-profile juvenile crimes continue to rock Kent this summer
A burst of high-profile crimes committed by juveniles continue to strike Kent in June and July. Kent Police Chief Rafael Padilla, in a June 18 report to the City Council, noted juvenile crime numbers had skyrocketed from 2021 to 2023. He said the numbers were up in King County as well.

Mercantile to open second Wenatchee Avenue location in August
WENATCHEE — Mercantile, a local co-working space company, is expanding with a second location on Wenatchee Avenue. Mercantile first opened its doors in 2019 at the Ellis-Forde building at 14 N. Wenatchee Avenue with 21 office spaces. The company has been well-received since its launch, leading owners Rick and Cory Wray and Jeff and Heather Ostenson to open a second location.

Blondie has announced the cancelation of their upcoming tour dates, although they did not offer up a reason why. “We are saddened to announce the cancellation of several upcoming Blondie concert dates during August and September,” the band shares on Instagram. “This was a hard decision to make, and we understand how disappointing this news is for everyone. PULLMAN - Pullman Building Supply will be closing its doors this fall. Moscow & Pullman Building Supply announced the closure of its Pullman location with a press release Friday morning. Managers say there isn’t enough demand to sustain the Pullman store. The statement says the decision was not made lightly and that changes in the market and future economic forecasts led to the difficult decision.

Goodman Real Estate Sells 155-Unit Astral Apartments in Kent for $36.6MM
A Kent multifamily community traded hands recently in a deal that shows investors continue to be attracted to the city’s offerings. The property, known as Astral Apartments, was sold by an entity affiliated with Goodman Real Estate for $36.6 million, or about $236,129 per unit, according to King County public records. The buyer was an entity affiliated with 6329 Magnolia Apartments LLC, based in Bellevue.
