Nonprofit receives $400K in state funding for Cumberland County housing project
A nonprofit organization has received $400,000 from the state for one of its latest homeownership projects in Cumberland County. Tri County Housing, a certified community development organization, will receive the money for its homeownership project in the 200 block of Eutaw Avenue in New Cumberland from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. The money is made available through the Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement fund.

Dauphin County detective, 42, dies while off duty
A detective with the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police died while off duty, the department announced on Wednesday. Steven Wertz, 42, was a member of the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police for 18 years and was assigned to the criminal investigations section in October 2021, the release said.

Suspects identified in July 3 stabbing that injured one person in Harrisburg
HARRISBURG, Pa. — Police have arrested two suspects in a stabbing that left one person injured earlier this month in Harrisburg. Placido Rodriguez-Santiago, 42, and Omar Rodriguez-Santiago, 43, are both charged with simple assault and terroristic threats in connection to an alleged stabbing that occurred on July 3 on the 1600 block of Revere St. in the city.

Amir Jones Wanted For West Philly Mass Shooting: Police
Amir Jones, 30, was last seen wearing camouflage shorts and a white T-shirt, authorities said in a release. The shooting happened around 2 a.m. on the 1200 block of North Alden Street in Carroll Park, PPD said previously. Three people were killed — 23-year-old Sekayi Robinson and brothers Akil and Rashie Jones, 33 and 29.
