MANSFIELD — About a dozen middle schoolers gained skills and learned about careers in defense manufacturing at the “Building Giants” Submarine Manufacturing Camp. Man taken into custody after assault on Gnadenhutten police chief
GNADENHUTTEN ‒ Police Chief Dennis Moody suffered a broken nose after he was involved in a scuffle Tuesday at Gnadenhutten's boat ramp on the Tuscarawas River. Moody was at home at around 4:30 p.m. when he got a call about a fight between juveniles at the intersection of Tuscarawas Avenue and Cherry Street. Man hospitalized after Merriman Valley shooting early Friday
A 35-year-old man was hospitalized Friday morning after being found with a gunshot wound in Merriman Valley, according to Akron police. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at about midnight in the 1800 block of Merriman Road. Upon arrival, police found the man with gunshot wound to the chest. He was subsequently transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General, where he is currently listed in critical condition. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. New Ohio law requires schools to honor religious beliefs, free speech
