    Final data from Fourth of July CT State Police patrols

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police release their final stats from their Fourth of July 2024 holiday traffic enforcement.

    Troopers made 38 DUI arrests during the period, spanning 6 p.m. Wednesday July 3 to 11:59 p.m. Sunday July 7.

    Troopers investigated 332 accidents.

    A crash in Trumbull involved a fatality.

    Three of the other crashes involved serious injuries. Those happened in Burlington, Colebrook, and Roxbury.

    239 tickets were issued specifically for speeding, while 483 tickets were issued unsafe lane changing, following too closely, distracted driving, seatbelt, and other offenses.

    Overall, there were 5,436 overall calls for service and 253 motor assists.
