Somerset County Man Arrested for Shooting
A Somerset County man is facing aggravated assault charges after he was accused of shooting and wounding another man after they got into an argument over money. Arrested was 42 year old Johnathan Kearns. According to a criminal complaint, the shooting occurred last Friday in a home on 2nd street in Acosta. Reportedly, Kearns entered the victim’s home, where he and the victim’s girlfriend were sleeping. The victim reported that Kearns forced his way into their bedroom and pointed a shotgun at them. Kearns reportedly started yelling at the woman about $200 dollars she owed him. Kearns then yelled at the woman that she should be leaving with him, and then pointed a gun at the man and shot him in the abdomen. Kearns reportedly told the woman he only used rubber bullets. The victim was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center where he underwent surgery. Kearns is in the Somerset County Prison in lieu of bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 4th.
Two exhibitions to open at Verostko Center
LATROBE, PA – The Verostko Center for the Arts, located on the Saint Vincent College campus within the Dale P. Latimer Library, is pleased to announce two exhibitions to mark the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year.
