Pixies have shared “Motoroller,” the latest new song off their forthcoming album The Night the Zombies Came .

Built from both an acoustic and electric guitar line, “Motoroller” travels by “scooter” through Berlin, with vocalist Black Francis offering various vague details that pop up along his ride. Meanwhile, new vocalist and bassist Emma Richardson (formerly of Band of Skulls) takes Francis’ melodies up the octave and offers a handful of satisfying vocal harmonies.

“This is one of those kinds of songs where there’s little threads you can follow and they take you somewhere,” Francis said about the track in a statement. “But they’re not required for the experience. You can just start fishing around in the lyrics, and maybe you won’t find exactly what the story is, but you’ll find a story related to the city of Berlin. So just have fun with the clues that are there.” Stream “Motoroller” below.

“Motoroller” follows previous The Night the Zombies Came singles “Oyster Beds,” “Chicken,” “You’re So Impatient,” and “Que Sera, Sera.” The Night the Zombies Came is Pixies’ tenth album, and their first since the departure of Paz Lenchantin earlier this year. The album is out everywhere on October 25th — just in time for Halloween.

Pixies are currently gearing up to go on tour with Pearl Jam in Australia and New Zealand this fall, but they’ve just announced a 2025 UK/European tour. The run kicks off in Utrecht, Netherlands on April 25th and continues through late May; get tickets for all of Pixies’ international dates on viagogo .

Meanwhile, Francis (A.K.A. Frank Black) is gearing up for a 2025 North American tour kicking off in January to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his sophomore solo album, Teenager of the Year . Get tickets to see him here .
