Apple TV+ has revealed the new trailer for Season 2 of Shrinking , with the first two episodes set to drop on Wednesday, October 16th.

The show follows therapist Jimmy ( Jason Segel ) as he grieves the death of his wife, re-fosters his relationship with his daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell), and relies on the advice and encouragement of his therapist co-workers Gaby ( Jessica Williams ) and Dr. Paul Rhodes ( Harrison Ford ). Meanwhile, he starts taking bigger risks by bringing his patients outside the office to help work out their emotional issues.

Season 2 picks up where the first season left off, with Jimmy remarking in the trailer’s opening that as therapists, they’re “on a hot streak” with helping their patients — even if his personal methods are a bit unorthodox. Jimmy has certainly patched things up with both Paul and his daughter Alice, but as a shrink might say, recovery is a marathon, not a sprint.

“ Shrinking follows a grieving therapist (played by Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks,” the show’s logline reads. “Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own.” Watch the trailer for Season 2 below.

Created by Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein of Ted Lasso fame, Shrinking also stars Michael Urie, Christa Miller, Luke Tennie, and Ted McGinley. He’s not in the trailer, but Goldstein will also be making a special guest star appearance in Season 2. The 12-episode season will commence with the first two episodes on October 16th, followed by a new episode every Wednesday until December 25, 2024.
