The estate of the late drummer Joey Jordison has settled its lawsuit against Slipknot .

A notice of unconditional settlement was filed on September 17th in Los Angeles County Superior Court by Steamroller, LLC — the successor in interest of Jordison. According to documents obtained by Blabbermouth , a request for dismissal was filed the same day, though terms of the settlement were not released.

Jordison’s estate sued Slipknot and core members Corey Taylor and Shawn “Clown” Crahan in June 2023 for allegedly profiting off the drummer’s death, among other accusations.

The lawsuit alleged that Taylor and Crahan failed to return “at least 22 items” that were the property of the late drummer after “promising to return all of Jordison’s belongings.”

The complaint alleged that those items, including “musical instruments, gear, and wardrobe,” were used “in a traveling Slipknot museum called Knotfest and line[d] their pockets with profit off of Jordison’s devoted fanbase.” The lawsuit also stated that Taylor and Crahan had agreed to return the items following the drummer’s removal from the band in 2013 and prior to his passing in 2021.

Jordison’s estate went on to accuse the Slipknot camp of acting “callously” in using Jordison’s death as a marketing tool for Slipknot’s 2022 album, The End, So Far .

Stated the lawsuit: “It is clear that Taylor and Crahan did not actually care about Jordison or his family; they cared only about drumming up publicity and sales of the new album.”

Taylor and Crahan responded by denying the allegations and asking for the complaint to be dismissed via their own legal documents.

Slipknot, meanwhile, recently wrapped up a North American tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 1999 self-titled album. The band has two more US dates — appearances at the Louder Than Life on Thursday (September 26th) in Louisville and October 11th at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento (get tickets here ) — before playing Knotfest Brasil (October 19th) and concerts in Mexico, Europe, and the UK.
