Hurricane Helene left a 500-mile path of destruction across the southern United States. The city of Asheville, North Carolina, home to some of the country’s finest independent music venues, was especially hard hit, and will take months, if not years to recover.

The National Independent Venue Foundation (NIVF) Emergency Relief Fund is providing essential financial aid to venues and festivals in Asheville and beyond. If you’re able to, please consider donating here .

Additionally, NIVF is currently accepting applications for emergency relief for independent venues and promoters, both for-profit and nonprofit, across the United States that present music, comedy, and performing arts. You can learn more here .

The Salvage Station, located in Asheville’s historic River Arts District, was completely destroyed by Hurricane Helene. The venue has launched a GoFundMe campaign , with 100% of the proceeds going directly to non-owner team members.

The Grey Eagle, another prominent independent Asheville venue, was fortunately spared of any damage. However, the venue has canceled all concerts through October 9th and has temporarily been repurposed as a collection site for donations. The Grey Eagle is also accepting donations for its venue staff.

MJ Lenderman, who hails from Asheville, who shared links to a number of relief organizations via his Instagram page .
