Paul McCartney made a surprise appearance during producer Andrew Watt and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith ’s intimate show in the Hamptons on Tuesday night (August 20th).

While joining Watt and Smith on stage at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, McCartney exuberantly performed the Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There” and Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.” Watch the fan-shot footage below.

During the show, Watt and Smith were accompanied by former Hall & Oates guitarist and Saturday Night Live bandleader G. E. Smith. Watt’s girlfriend Charlotte Lawrence was also on hand to duet with McCartney during “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

Watt and McCartney have worked together before. Macca recently appeared on “Bite My Head Off” from the Rolling Stones’ 2023 album, Hackney Diamonds , which Watt produced.
