Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale has posted a stunning cover of Linkin Park ’s “Crawling” a week before the latter band makes a highly anticipated announcement. The performance has some fans wondering if Hale will be involved in a potential Linkin Park reunion.

The impending Linkin Park news has taken a few twists and turns over the past few days. Originally, fans thought the announcement would be made on Wednesday (August 28th) when a mysterious countdown clock hit zero. Instead, the clock started ticking back up, with Linkin Park eventually telling fans to tune back in on September 5th .

Meanwhile, Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley threw fans for a loop when he teased his own Wednesday announcement, only to later insist he was “not joining” Linkin Park.

Now, Hale’s performance of “Crawling” has fans speculating whether she’s somehow involved, especially following reports earlier this year that Linkin Park were planning a reunion featuring a female singer stepping in for the late Chester Bennington.

Hale’s Instagram clip features her alone at the piano as she sings the Linkin Park hit, adding a haunting and soulful vibe to the original.

Comments on the post include, “Omg maybe she is gonna join Linkin park. She’s phenomenal,” and, “@linkinpark announcement @officiallzzyhale as the special guest vocalist for a string of 2025 festival dates… now that would be epic news.”

While Hale would certainly be an intriguing candidate to join Linkin Park, Halestorm have been working on a new album with a 2025 release likely. If that’s the case, it can be assumed that Hale would be committed to her main band next year.
