    Horry County inmate dies at Conway Medical Center, coroner says

    HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — An investigation is underway after a 35-year-old inmate at J. Reuben Long Detention Center died Sunday at Conway Medical Center, Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said.

    Joseph Watts Jr. of Conway died at about 9:45 a.m., Willard said. He was not feeling well and was checked by medical staff before he was taken to the hospital.

    An autopsy is scheduled for this week. The Horry County Sheriff’s Office and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating.
