HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A lightning strike ruined the steeple of an Horry County church on Tuesday, but no injuries were reported, authorizes said.

Horry County Fire Rescue crews responded to a two-alarm blaze along the 4000 block of Highway 65 outside of Conway just before 7 p.m.

That’s the location of White Savannah Free Will Baptist Church. The incident was contained by 7:50 p.m., but not without structural damage to its steeple, officials said.
