Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program application date extended
In January Governor Josh Shapiro announced the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, or PTRR for short. With the program, hundreds of thousands of older and disabled Pennsylvanians will now be eligible for a rebate up to $1,000. This brings the maximum standard rebate up from its previous level of $650. Former fiscal manager charged with defrauding over $400k from children's advocacy center
SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A former fiscal manager for the Children's Advocacy Center for Northeastern Pennsylvania (CAC/NEPA) has been charged with wire fraud. According to the United States Attorney's Office, from Nov. 2018 to June 2022, Angela Saar, 51, of Olyphant, engaged in a scheme to defraud the CAC/NEPA while employed as the fiscal manager.
