‘Birds and Blooms’ set July 27
The public is invited to Eveleth-Fayal Garden Club’s “Birds and Blooms” Flower Show on Saturday, July 27, at the Fayal Town Hall, 4375 Shady Lane, Eveleth. Entries will be accepted on Friday, July 26, 4-6:30 p.m. and Saturday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. Exhibitors do not have to be garden club members. There will be a special category for young gardeners. 1 injured after Vista Star strikes breakwater
DULUTH, Minn. — One person was injured on Saturday night after a tour boat struck a breakwater near Duluth. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that 84 people were on board the Vista Star around 10:45 Saturday night when emergency crews got a report the vessel was against the breakwater but not taking on water.
Coach Bill King honored as outstanding citizen

Huskies Rally for Walk-Off Win Ahead of All-Star Break
DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Huskies defeated the Eau Claire Express 7-6 in walk-off fashion in their final game before the All-Star break on Sunday at Wade Stadium. The Huskies trailed 6-0 through three innings, giving up two home runs in the process. However, Duluth clawed back, scoring three runs in the fourth inning and tying the game in the seventh. In the bottom of the ninth, Joe Vos hit a single to left field, bringing in Charlie Sutherland for the game-winning run.

Man reaches deal in Barron home invasion case, pleads guilty to armed robbery
One of two men accused of invading a Barron home while armed, committing burglary and beating the elderly homeowner on Dec. 19 reached a plea deal on Friday in Barron County Circuit Court. Ryan G.
