LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - After losing his two sons in a tragic car accident in 2008, North Carolina drag racer Doug Herbert founded a driving safety program for teens. The program is know as B.R.A.K.E.S., which stands for “Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe.” It is now nationwide, having offered instruction in nearly every state.
Columbus Legion Seniors and Juniors’ Area Tourney Openers are Tonight
The Columbus Legion Seniors and Juniors both open play tonight as the top seed in their area tournaments. The Cornerstone Insurance Group Seniors are hosting the A-6 area Senior tourney at Pawnee Park. Cornerstone meets number 6 seed Lincoln High tonight at 7 p.m. Columbus went 16-15 in the regular season, while Lincoln High’s Sampson Construction team was 9-16. Cornerstone is trying to make it to the Legion Class A Senior state tournament for the third straight year.
