UPDATE: Heat advisory affecting North Texas until Sunday evening, according to the NWS
An updated heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 7:07 p.m. The advisory is for Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Young, Jack, Wise, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Delta, Hopkins, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Rockwall, Kaufman, Van Zandt, Rains, Hood, Somervell, Johnson, Ellis, Henderson, Bosque, Hill, Navarro, Freestone, Anderson, McLennan, Limestone and Leon counties.
UPDATE: Anticipate heat index values up to 112 degrees until Saturday evening
The National Weather Service issued an updated excessive heat warning at 1:58 p.m. on Saturday. The warning is for Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Young, Jack, Wise, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Delta, Hopkins, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Rockwall, Kaufman, Van Zandt, Rains, Hood, Somervell, Johnson, Ellis, Henderson, Bosque, Hill, Navarro, Freestone, Anderson, McLennan, Limestone and Leon counties.
Marjorie Ruth Hennix Morrison
KERNERSVILLE – Marjorie Ruth Hennix Morrison, 94, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her residence. Marjorie was born in the first month of the Great Depression in Cooke County, Illinois on October 17, 1929, to the late Charles and Ruth Hennix. Marjorie was a faithful member of Triad Baptist Church, which she dearly loved. She was an inspiration to be around and was loved and adored by many. Marjorie was someone who never met a stranger and could make friends easily. To know her was to love her. She was a graduate of Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, and also Wheaton College in Chicago, IL. Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
