    Magic Layer Bars aka Hello Dolly Bars

    I grew up on these babies. This cookie is sweet nostalgia to me. There are so many variations to make it too, you really can't go wrong with it! For a super easy and fast cookie bar, these are a winner!

    Here's what you need to make 24 cookie bars:

    Ingredients:

    • 1/2 cup salted butter , melted
    • 1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
    • 1, 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 cup package semi - sweet chocolate chips*
    • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
    • 1 cup chopped pecans *

    Preheat oven to 350 (Use 325 if using a glass baking dish).

    In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter and mix until well coated. Then, press evenly into the bottom of your baking dish.

    Pour condensed milk over the top of the graham cracker crust. Then,sprinkle top with chocolate chips, followed by the sweetened shredded coconut and chopped pecans. Press down slightly to set in.

    Bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove and cool completely before cutting to allow it to set properly. Store covered at room temperature or in the fridge if you prefer a colder, firmer cookie.

    Cut into bars and enjoy!

    * Notes:

    You can use a different nut, I just happened to love pecans as it's what I grew up with on these cookies, but you can also use walnuts, peanuts, or almonds.

    You can use milk chocolate chips instead of semi - sweet. You can also do half chocolate chips and half butterscotch chips if desired.
