I can't even begin to tell you how much I love sweet potato fries. While I prefer them fried, I recognize that it's a bit healthier baked. So, today, we have both versions for you, along with a maple cinnamon dipping sauce that's divine! This is what you'll need to make about 4-6 servings:

    Fried Sweet Potato Fries:

    • 4 sweet potatoes medium size, orange or red color
    • 2/3 cup cornstarch
    • 6 cups vegetable oil
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 3/4 teaspoon pepper
    • chopped parsley for garnish optional

    Baked Sweet Potato Fries:

    • 4 sweet potatoes medium size, orange or red color
    • 4 tablespoons olive oil
    • 3 tablespoons corn starch
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • cooking spray
    • chopped parsley for garnish optional

    Maple Cinnamon Dipping Sauce:

    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
    • 2 1/2 Tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 tsp cinnamon

    Fried Sweet Potato Fries

Start by washing and peeling 4 medium sweet potatoes, then cut them into 3/8-inch wide sticks. Rinse the sweet potato sticks in cold water twice, discarding the water between rinses. Boil the fries in water for 4 minutes, just until they’re slightly tender. Once done, transfer them into an ice bath to stop the cooking process.

To prepare the batter, mix 2/3 cups of cornstarch with an equal amount of water in a bowl, then season with 2 teaspoons of salt and 3/4 teaspoon of pepper. Dip the sweet potato fries in the batter, then allow them to rest on paper towels for 2 minutes.

Heat a pot of vegetable oil to 350°F. Fry the sweet potato fries in batches, ensuring they don’t stick together. Cook them for 5-7 minutes, or until golden. Once done, drain the fries on paper towels and season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Serve them hot and crispy, garnished with parsley if desired. Serve with maple cinnamon dipping sauce and enjoy!

    Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Begin by washing and peeling 4 medium-sized sweet potatoes, then cut them into 3/8-inch wide sticks. In a bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, and cornstarch. Dredge the sweet potato sticks in the mixture until they’re fully coated.

Next, toss the coated fries with olive oil until evenly covered. Arrange the fries in a single layer on a sheet pan that’s lined with foil and lightly sprayed with cooking spray.

Bake the fries in a preheated oven at 400°F for 15 minutes, or until they start to turn golden. Use tongs or a spatula to flip the fries, then bake for an additional 10 minutes or until they reach your desired level of crispiness.

Season with extra salt and pepper to taste, and serve the fries hot. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve with maple cinnamon dipping sauce and enjoy!

    Sauce:

Mix all sauce ingredients together in a small bowl and serve with hot fries. Save any remaining sauce covered in the fridge for up to 1 week.
