Easy Baked Ham And Cheese Croissants

This is a super easy and inexpensive meal. We like to use the jumbo croissants, but you can use smaller croissants or even swap out for dinner rolls. Either way, they're a snap to prepare and delicious! This is all you need to make 12 mini sandwiches or 5-6 jumbo sandwiches:

    Ingredients:

    • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
    • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
    • 1 Tbl honey
    • 1/2-1 Tbl prepared yellow mustard
    • 1/2 tsp sea salt
    • 1/4 tsp black pepper
    • 5-6 jumbo croissants*, halved horizontally
    • 1 pound thinly sliced smoked deli ham
    • 12 slices provolone cheese, diagonally sliced
    • 1 large egg white
    • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds, optional

Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish or coat it with nonstick spray. In a small bowl, mix together butter, yellow mustard, green onions, and honey, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Spread the butter mixture on both sides of the croissants, then fill each with ham and cheese, assembling 12 sandwiches. Place the sandwiches in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.

In another small bowl, whisk together the egg white and 1 tablespoon of water. Brush this mixture over the tops of the croissants and, if desired, sprinkle with poppy seeds.

Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the croissants are golden and toasted. Let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!

    *Notes:

Due to the jumbo croissant shape, you may find that there are large spaces in between some croissants in your pan. Sometimes, I will cut a jumbo croissant in thirds, angled to fit the spaces needed, then fill in those bigger sections. These will just be smaller snack sized or kid sized sandwiches, but at least you'll utilize the area better.
