Tyler Herron Signs Free Agent Deal With Tampa Bay Rays
TAMPA, Fla. – Illinois State baseball junior Tyler Herron has signed a non-drafted free agent deal with the Tampa Bay Rays following the conclusion of the 2024 MLB Draft. Herron, a native of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, spent the 2024 season in Normal. He finished the season hitting .328 (tied for second-best on the team) with eight extra-base hits, 17 RBIs, and reached base at a clip of .389 in his lone season as a Redbird.
