COOLSPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WKBN) – A public hearing is set for next week on a conditional use application for another solar energy facility in Coolspring Township.

The application is from Sunrise Babcock Road LLC for two parcels of property on Airport Road.

The Coolspring Board of Supervisors is inviting the public to the July 9 meeting at the Coolspring Township Municipal Building, 852 N. Perry Highway.

Public comments will be accepted and everyone will be able to review the recommendations of the planning commission.

In May, dozens of residents filled a meeting of the planning commission, many in opposition to the solar farm. That meeting took place as another solar farm moved closer to going online in the same area on Miller School Road.

Some people attending the meeting expressed concern about protecting the property rights of everyone in the community.

Gerry Ricciutti contributed to this report.
