Rite Aid will close all its local Michigan stores
Rite Aid will close all Michigan stores by the end of September, including locations in Niles, Buchanan, Cassopolis, Dowagiac and Berrien Springs. Since filing for bankruptcy in October, the company has been shuttering stores across the country as a result of declining sales, mounting debt, and lawsuits against it and other pharmacies accused of illegally filling prescriptions that have contributed to the opioid epidemic, according to the Detroit Free Press. Man found dead inside car at Buffalo Grove grocery store parking lot identified, autopsy revealed
A Skokie man has been identified as the person found dead inside a car in the parking lot of a north suburban grocery store on Saturday afternoon, police said.Buffalo Grove police and fire units responded to Woodman's Food Market at 1550 Deerfield Parkway just before 3 p.m. for a well-being check on a person inside a vehicle emitting a foul odor.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Two Indiana men dead, young girl found safe after boating accident
Two men from Indiana died in a boating accident on a lake in eastern Illinois and a 7-year-old girl has been found safe. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources said Monday in a news release that police got a call about a distressed boater on Sunday August 18 at the LaSalle Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area. When they got there, they saw a capsized vessel and found the girl on the shore with park visitors who helped her out. Those same visitors helped her contact her mother and grandmother.
Refuse Pickup Schedule for Labor Day Week
The Michigan City Refuse Department will be altering the waste pickup schedule for the week of September 1-6, 2024, to accommodate the Labor Day holiday. There will be no waste pickup on Monday, September 2 (Labor Day). On Tuesday, September 3, waste normally collected on Monday will be picked up. From Wednesday, September 4 through Friday, September 6, residents should place their waste out on their regular collection day but be aware that pickup may be delayed by a couple of days. Waste should remain curbside until it is collected.
