IHSBCA Releases All-Star Series Rosters

(Area) Carter Putney of Kuemper, Catholic, and Kolby Culbertson of Coon Rapids-Bayard have been selected to play on the Iowa High School Coaches Association Small Schools West All-Star Team. Luke Woltman of Lewis Central joins the Large School West Team.

The 2024 IHSBCA All-Star series will be held in Pella, August 1-3.

Kolby Culbertson of Coon Rapids-Bayard, batted .277 this season, with four home runs, three triples, seven doubles, 12 singles, and 27 RBI. Culbertson put up some impressive numbers on the mound for the Crusaders. The senior finished the season with a 6-5 record and a 2.31 ERA. He appeared on the hill in 63 innings, struck out 95 batters, and walked 46.

Putney batted .289 this season, hitting 24 singles and one double. The senior also scored 33 runs and stole 14 bases. He was 2-4 on the mound, with an ERA of 3.78 in 37 innings of work and one save.

Wyatt Zoskie of North Polk is the Head Coach of the Small School West Team. He is assisted by Alan Vasher of Sioux Central and Randy Snyder of Kuemper, Catholic.

Luke Woltmann of Lewis Central, a second-team all-Hawkeye Ten selection, batted .383 with two home runs, three triples, four doubles, 17 singles, and 11 RBI. Woltman, a member of the Titans’ pitching staff, finished the season with a 1-1 record and an ERA of 1.64 in 21 innings of work. The senior struck out 24 batters and walked 15.

Mark Hey of Ankeny Centennial is the Head Coach of the Large School West Team. He is assisted by Blake Heitmeier of Carlisle and Nick Steenhagen of Ames.
