One of two Columbia residents accused of stealing from a Cooper County Walmart, then leading law enforcement from several agencies on a vehicle pursuit, pleads guilty. Anthony Jasper II, 29, pleaded guilty last week to driving with a revoked or suspended license. In exchange for his plea, a charge of stealing was dismissed. Jasper was sentenced to five years supervised probation. If he violates the conditions of his probation, he faces four years in prison.

A Colorado couple face charges in Cooper County after they’re caught with nearly 900 fentanyl pills in a vehicle, along with two small children. Nathan Smith, 30, and Jasmine Grinstead, 31, both of Grand Junction, Colorado, are charged with first-degree drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, and unlawful use of a weapon. Grinstead is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and Smith is charged with driving with a revoked or suspended license plate.
Kansas City-area man charged with DWI for Cooper County crash with serious injuries
A Kansas City man is charged with driving while intoxicated for a Cooper County crash that seriously injured a truck driver earlier this year. Jason Baker, 53, of Blue Springs, is charged with one count of DWI resulting in serious injury. His first court appearance is scheduled for July 23.

UTV accident reports serious injuries in Cooper County
COOPER COUNTY, Mo.- Two Tipton residents were injured in a Cooper County UTV accident Saturday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, 51-year-old, Chris M. Brauer was travelling north on Conservation Drive when the vehicle slid and exited the right side of the road. The 2012 Polaris Ranger overturned and ejected Brauer and his passenger, 45-year-old, Miranda L. Brauer. The vehicle struck two trees before coming to a rest.
