Adrian Beltr é , Todd Helton, Jim Leyland, and Joe Mauer will be inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame this Sunday in Cooperstown, New York.
Beltré earned a whopping 95.1 percent of the vote in his first year on the ballot. The 21-year veteran is one of the best third baseman of all-time, known both for his bat (3,166 career hits) and glove (five Gold Glove awards).
Like Beltr é, Mauer enters the Hall of Fame after just one year on the ballot, capturing 76.1 percent of the vote. Few catchers have matched Mauer's prolific peak: The lifelong Minnesota Twin touts three batting titles, three Gold Gloves, and an MVP.
Helton heads to Cooperstown after a six-year wait on the ballot. The five-time All-Star played his entire 17-year career with the Rockies and is a lifetime .316 hitter, one of the game's best first basemen throughout the 2000s.
The Hall of Fame's contemporary era baseball committee elected Leyland, a manager for 22 MLB seasons, in December. A three-time Manager of the Year-winner, Leyland led the Marlins to the 1997 World Series title. He also managed the Pirates, Rockies, and Tigers.
