WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – The American Red Cross is offering tips on how to deal with pesky insects this summer. The organization said is a greater chance of getting bitten by mosquitoes and ticks. According to the American Mosquito Control Association there are around 175 known species of mosquito in the U.S. This puts Americans at risk from across the country.

Listeria outbreak sickens at least 12 in New York
NEW YORK – At least a dozen cases of listeria have been reported across New York state in connection to a national outbreak linked to deli meat.The state Health Department said four of those cases were in New York City, two were in Suffolk County and one was in Nassau County. The remaining five cases were located in Cayuga, Dutchess, Greene, Onondaga and Oswego counties.All 12 patients had to be hospitalized.
