ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED MENACING INCIDENT
Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged menacing incident on Sunday. An RPD report said just after 10:00 a.m. officers contacted the 37-year-old after he allegedly threatened a victim with a hammer in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. The man’s belongings were blocking the sidewalk and the victim asked him to move so she could get past him in her wheelchair.
ROSEBURG CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LAND SWAP
Roseburg City Council will hold a public hearing on a proposed land swap at its meeting Monday night. The city has initiated an amendment to its Urban Growth Boundary. If approved, the process will include removing two large parcels of land from the UGB that have significant development constraints, while adding a section of land in the Charter Oaks area that is flatter and much easier to develop. Monday councilors will consider an ordinance amending the UGB, annexing Troost Street right-of-way to the edge of the new UGB and amending the Urban Growth Management Agreement.
